Four people were rescued after their catamaran capsized off the Florida Keys on Sunday, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. The Coast Guard said the 26-foot catamaran capsized about five nautical miles south of Boot Key Harbor while a small craft advisory was in effect.Officials said the four boaters had a marine radio onboard and were able to call for help. A Coast Guard crew from Station Marathon responded and brought all four people to safety. The Coast Guard said no injuries were reported, and there were no pollution concerns.“Having a marine radio onboard allowed the boaters to call for help, and our crew was able to respond quickly and bring all four people to safety,” Petty Officer 3rd Class Jackson Boggs said.Following the rescue, the Coast Guard reminded boaters to check weather conditions before heading out on the water and to use VHF-FM Channel 16 to call for help during an emergency.Click here to download our free news, weather and smart TV apps.
