Snowbean Closes Suddenly on East Colonial Drive; Izziban Also Reportedly Shuttered

Snowbean, the popular lakeside coffee and dessert shop at 5310 E. Colonial Drive, has permanently closed, announcing its final day of business with little warning. In an Instagram post on October 14, the business told customers it would close at 5 p.m. that same day. “This is just as surprising to us as it is to you,” the Snowbean team shared. What began as a small dessert shop serving customers of neighboring Izziban Sushi BBQ grew into a popular gathering spot for studying, working, first dates, and late-night hangouts. Its lakeside patio became a destination of its own, with visitors attaching padlocks to the waterfront railing, often marked with names, initials, and messages, creating a growing collection of memories overlooking the water.
